Edvard Grieg: The Death of Aase (1888)

This version of The Death of Aase is from the orchestral Peer Gynt Suite 1 Op. 46, but arranged for choir by Erik Hellerstedt in 2003. Set a capella for SSATB without words, this arrangement has the choir singing only three different vowel sounds (a, ah and u), the vowel changes allowing the choir to cleverly match the switches between muted and un-muted strings used in the original.
