Locus iste are the words used in the Gradual during the dedication of a church. This place was made by God, a priceless sacrament; beyond reproach. This setting by Bruckner was written in 1869 for the dedication of the votive chapel of Linz cathedral, where he had once worked as the cathedral organist.
