The Froxfield Choir was formed in 1976 by Elizabeth Gotto, for singing carols at Christmas. There was a break of about five years whilst Elizabeth was abroad and then it was re-launched in 1991, going on to sing more ambitious pieces and perform two or three concerts every year. Elizabeth continued as director until 2004 and still occasionaly conducts performances.
The choir is presently about 40 strong, and under our professional conductor, Richard Smith, presents concerts several times a year as well as singing choral evensongs at High Cross and elsewhere, and leading the popular Service of Nine Lessons and Carols at Privett.
The choir is occasionaly available for weddings, funerals or other services, please contact the secretary, Didi Nicholson, either by e-mail or by telephone (01489 890522) for details.
